Excellent point! I wish I would have thought about that and asked that Bethel jerk!

Back when we were still active in the cong. we became friends with a young couple with 2 small kids. They were newly baptized and wanting a better future for their kids. At one of our district conv. we had a brother come out from NY headquarters to give a talk. His talk was about our kids and how there was nothing out in the world for them and Satan just wanted them so he could chew them up, get out all of their youth and vitality then spit them out then Jehovah would have to destroy them at armegeddon. Very graphic and vivid to the young couple. We were standing and talking to them during the lunch break about the graphic talk when the Bethel brother came walking by. We stopped him and introduced ourselves. After several minutes the young mother bluntly asked the brother, "Your talk was kind of disturbing why is Jehovah going to destroy all the children when they're innocent?" I could tell by her shaky voice that this really bothered her.
Guess what the heartless bastard said?
"Well, when a lamb is born they are naturally humble and docile. Here in the Southwest you have rattlesnakes. If you take a baby rattlesnake when its first born and take it away from its mother, when it grows up, its still going to be a rattlesnake and it will still bite you and poison you. That's why Jehovah has to destroy the children also, because of their parents."
I saw the tears in the young mothers eyes and I wanted to smack him one for being a heartless a$$. We told her later when we were alone. "That unlike rattlesnakes that function on instinct, humans have the capacity for love, learning, knowledge and compassion. Jesus can read heart conditions so we can trust him to be a fair judge."
It's funny ironically, that when you learn TTATT, you start thinking back to all the idiotic things you heard & believed as a JW. You realize that you've grown beyond them and have become more HUMAN.
Peace & love to all

Did reading Jwfacts help you? Please take a moment to say thanks..
by The Quiet One init seems as though so many of the stories of people who are now mentally free that i read on here involved reading jwfacts.com at some point along the way.. he basically saved my sanity (questionable, i know!
), and was never as sensational and garish as other sites which immediately scared me away.
why not take a minute out of your day to say thanks for any difference that jwfacts made to your life, and tell us what it was that helped you?...

Thank you! I always direct people to their website!!! Even my doctor was curious about me leaving the JW's after 49 years and she was curious so I gave her the web-address.

Will AAWA Become another cult?
by His Excellency inplease sorry for english, i have only been learning for 18 months.
everyone please think about it, and beware of any initiative designed to solve "a community problem".
becasue russel also started his own cult on a similar premise like this , claiming to have all the answers to issues whose solutions seems obscured to the majority in his days, and here we are today, constantly bashing our fingers on the keyboard in a bid to finding comfort from the mess he had put all of us into.

It's incorporated in Arizona. I lived there for a number of years, it's still the Wild West! Plus their incorporation tax laws seem to be a little more lenient.
Plus it doesn't claim to be a religion. It's trying to help people get out of religions.

Judicial committee questions
by slimboyfat inwhen the elders invite someone to a judicial committee does the person under scrutiny have the right to ask beforehand what evidence will be adduced against him and what witnesses will be called?
in other words is there pre-trial disclosure within the watchtower's quasi legal process?

We just had a friend of ours go thru this. He wrote a letter asking for the accusation in writing, evidence against him and names of the accusers and gave a copy to each elder. They all destroyed them and he doesn't know what is going on now but one elder told him he has a bad attitude.
Funny thing about all of this, his crime was only having dinner with my husband who is technically still a JW in good standing. By the way, my mom in law has maliciously slandered all of us on hearsay. We know they have NO evidence. But that isn't stopping them.
I did talk to a lawyer regarding this and our civil rights guarantee that we know what we're being accused of and we're entitled to representation, even in a religious setting. Unfortunately most lawyers don't want to get into a religious issue. So technically our civil rights are being violated in this situation.
We wish you the best and hope your JC goes the way you want it to.

Depends on if anyone on the committee has an agenda...Jealously? Difference of opinion? Thorn in the committees side? Stuck up for what was right and is now labeled a TROUBLE-MAKER. etc etc

Dismissing Servant: Interesting thing about that song. It sounds like he was describing what the new system would be like. If you believe in a future here on earth like some of us do.
We brought that up to an elder in our cong. and he looked at us like we were nuts and said "He doesn't like that song because John says "And no religion too..."
But if you think about it. Religion has been the biggest thorn in this world's side and in the new earth there won't be any religion. Because religion separates people as much as nations do, so there will ONE WAY, God's way!
So John was correct!
